Pilgrimage || A Downhill Skateboarding Super 8 Short

I made this super 8 short back in April 2019 as an attempt to document the yearly downhill skateboarding pilgrimage to Bathurst that myself and countless other Aussie skaters have been making for years, and in some cases the better half of a decade or more. Despite being no feat of cinematography ability or prowess the instantly nostalgic feeling of the shaky, over exposed super 8 footage recreated the sense of excitement and ritualistic nature of the trip which makes this B grade home movie particularly special to me. The track is “Couch” by Shlohmo with some other little textures added, I really wanted to try score this myself but after initially cutting the clip to this track it just worked too well. Hope you guys enjoy this warm and fuzzy video in these less than picturesque times the world is experiencing.
